You can read the shock absorber(s) type like this:
Example: MA456-310TR-78-85
• MA456=Type
• 310=Length in mm
• 78-85=Year of construction
• T=Threaded pre-load=spring pre-load with a screw ring
• R=Rebound=black knob at the bottom=adjustment on the rebound, outgoing damping. When adjusting, the rebound damping is also taken into account.
• L=Length=not many shock absorbers are supplied with length adjustment. If the L is in the article number, then it is.
• C=Compression=Compression adjustment on the reservoir
• W=W stands for double compression adjustment on the reservoir, Hi and Low speed compression is adjustable.
• M=Mono shock
